
İsmail Kapan
Chairman of the Board and Editor-in-Chief
Born in 1956 in Pütürge district of Malatya, İsmail Kapan completed his undergraduate studies at Istanbul University Faculty of Law; his master’s degree in Social Structure and Social Change at the Social Sciences Institute of the Faculty of Economics at the same university; and his doctorate in International Relations.
Having pursued amateur journalism during his high school years, İsmail Kapan began his professional career in 1978 as a columnist for Türkiye Newspaper. After completing his military service in 1983-1984, he worked as a lawyer and legal consultant for a period before returning to journalism in 1987.
Continuing to serve as a board member and senior executive in İhlas Group companies, Kapan has two books titled “Strategic Waves of Water” and “Spring Pains in the Middle East”. A member of the Turkish Journalists Association and a member of the High Council of the Press Council for 16 years, Kapan continues to write columns for Türkiye Newspaper.
