
Sadık Söztutan

Born in Sarıkamış district of Kars in 1962, Sadık Söztutan graduated from Erzurum Yavuz Selim Teacher Training School in 1978.
He began his journalism career on March 1, 1980, at the Istanbul headquarters of Türkiye Newspaper. Within the newspaper, he worked successively as a reporter, editor, and writer before being appointed Sports Editor of Türkiye Newspaper in September 1987. After holding this position for 23 years, Söztutan became the managing editor of the newspaper on December 1, 2010. He has also served as a member of the company’s Board of Directors since 2015.
Sadık Söztutan has published 13 books. Sadık Söztutan won the Turkish National Olympic Committee’s Fair Play Grand Prize in 1999 with his book “Ben Senin Yerinde Olsaydım Bunları Kitap Yapardım” (If I Were You, I Would Make a Book Out of These), and the Turkish Football Association’s “Author of the Year” award in 2012 with his book “Gülenlerin Ağlayanlara Borcu Var” (Those Who Laugh Owe a Debt to Those Who Cry.)
Sadık Söztutan is a member of the Turkish Journalists Association, the Turkish Sports Writers Association, and the Turkish National Olympic Committee.
