- Türkiye Newspaper was founded by Dr. Enver Ören on April 22, 1970, under the name “Hakikat” (Truth).
- On April 30, 1972, the name “Hakikat” was changed to “Türkiye” (Turkey).
- In 1978, following Dr. Enver Ören’s meeting with Asahi Shimbun at the FIEJ Congress in Japan, Türkiye Newspaper began a hand-delivery system.
- In 1980, it started marketing activities using its distribution network.
- In 1981, it established its own printing facilities and switched to the offset system.
- On October 1, 1982, Türkiye Newspaper Children’s Magazine began publication.
- On May 1, 1982, the newspaper supplement in English-language called “Made in Turkey” began publication.
- In 1983, it started producing its own printing machines.
- These offset machines were installed in Ankara, Adana, Erzurum, and Samsun.
- In 1985, Türkiye Gazetesi was expanded from eight pages to twelve, and its circulation reached 119,000.
- In 1986, the newspaper’s circulation reached 300,000.
- In 1989, the number of pages in Türkiye Newspaper increased from 12 to 16.
- It began printing in Europe (Frankfurt) from February 3, 1987.
- On March 17, 1987, it was selected as “Newspaper of the Year” by the Turkish Press Association.
- On October 24, 1987, a survey by the Istanbul Chamber of Industry announced that Türkiye Newspaper ranked second among large companies in the press sector.
- On March 28, 1988, its İzmir printing press became operational.
- On November 29, 1990, it achieved a record that will be difficult to break in the journalism sector in Turkey, reaching a net sales figure of 1,361,553.
- In 1990, the Ankara Printing Facilities were renovated.
- In 1991, the newspaper began to be prepared in a computer environment and transferred to other printing centers via an online system.
- In 1998, the company moved to İhlas Media Plaza, one of Turkey’s most modern and largest media centers.
- In line with the general restructuring trend of newspapers and distribution companies, the Samsun Printing Facilities were moved to Trabzon in 2001, and the Erzurum Printing Facilities were moved to Antalya in 2000.
- On December 3, 2008, the TSE Service Competence Certificate was awarded by TSE (Turkish Standards Institute).
- On August 21, 2009, the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System Certificate was awarded by Alberk QA.
- On August 15, 2000, İhlas Gazetecilik A.Ş. was established, and from that date onwards, Türkiye Newspaper began to be published by İhlas Gazetecilik A.Ş.
- Celebrating its 40th anniversary on April 22, 2010, Türkiye Gazetesi continues its operations as the only national newspaper whose ownership structure and publishing criteria have remained unchanged since its inception.
- Following the completion of its initial public offering, İhlas Gazetecilik A.Ş. shares began trading on the Istanbul Stock Exchange (İMKB) on June 14, 2010, under the ISIN code IHGZT.
- On December 1, 2011, İhlas Gazetecilik A.Ş. was awarded the International Quality Crown (IQC) in the Gold category under the QC100 Total Quality Management Model criteria.
- As of January 1, 2012, the company transitioned to an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
- On July 11, 2012, our newspaper was awarded the “Quality Star” award at the International Consumer Summit organized by the World Consumer Academy.
- On October 22, 2012, İhlas Journalism’s 2011 Activity Report won second place globally in the “Vision Awards” competition organized by LACP, the world’s most prestigious public relations platform.
- On January 1, 2013, the newspaper’s size was reduced to a new, more comfortable readability.
- On January 3, 2013, Alberk QA awarded the ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System Certificate.
- On July 30, 2013, Alberk QA awarded the OHSAS 18001:2007 Occupational Health and Safety Management System Certificate.
- On September 17, 2013, the newspaper revised its logo and strengthened its writing staff with well-known names.
- On August 22, 2014, the newspaper received FSC® Chain of Custody (FOREST SECURITY COMMITTEE CHAIN) certification from SGS.
- On December 31, 2014, İhlas Gazetecilik A.Ş. became a partner in İhlas Haber Ajansı A.Ş.
- In 2015, investments were made in new applications to increase the reach of the news website, mobile system, and social media tools.
- Due to strong reader demand, the Turkish flag was added to our logo.
- The newspaper’s writer and editorial staff was renewed, and content enrichment efforts were undertaken.
- The 50th anniversary celebrations of Türkiye Newspaper were launched. As a first step, the newspaper began to be printed with a 50th anniversary logo from January 1, 2020. In addition, the campaign was carried out on social media accounts with the hashtag #türkiyebenimaşkım (Turkey is my love).
- On April 22nd, the company’s anniversary, the 50th year was celebrated with enthusiasm through special broadcasts and posts in many media outlets.
- İhlas Gazetecilik A.Ş. increased its issued capital from 180 million TL to 800 million TL through a capital increase.
- İhlas Gazetecilik A.Ş., which operates in packaging and printing, opened its Sefaköy branch.
- İhlas Gazetecilik A.Ş. became the first printing company in Turkey to calculate its carbon footprint and thus obtain a Carbon Footprint Certificate. It was awarded the TÜRKAK-approved ISO 14064-1:2018 Corporate Carbon Footprint Certificate.
