Message from the Chairman of the Board and Editor-in-Chief

Dear Stakeholders,

2024 was a period in which the responsibilities and impact of the media sector increased even further, along with global political tensions, economic turbulence, and security crises. Ongoing hot conflicts in geographies stretching from the Middle East to the Black Sea, and from the Red Sea to the Pacific, had consequences that directly affected not only regional balances but also global supply chains, energy costs, and the way the public receives news. Developments centered in Gaza brought strategic passages such as the Suez and Bab el Mandeb to the forefront; while the Ukraine-Russia war continues to leave lasting effects on the world economy, particularly on grain supply and energy security.

In such a complex and rapidly changing world, journalism has become a vital task that is not limited to simply transmitting information; it must be shaped by the principles of responsibility, impartiality, and social benefit. As İhlas Gazetecilik A.Ş., we acted with this sense of responsibility throughout 2024. In this new era where disinformation is defined as a global threat and digital platforms are redefining the boundaries of content production, we have uncompromisingly maintained our approach to verified, objective, and fast news reporting.

The digital transformation process of the media sector has gained even more momentum in 2024. AI-supported content production, data visualization, multi-channel distribution models, and subscription-based sustainable media approaches are among the main elements shaping the future of the sector. In this context, as İhlas Gazetecilik A.Ş., we continued our investments in our technological infrastructure; we restructured our content production processes on a digital scale and developed highly interactive solutions, especially for mobile platforms.

In addition, we took significant steps to increase operational efficiency, improve production quality, and support digital transformation in our other activities, printing and packaging.

We acted with a publishing approach that not only monitors developments at the national and international levels but also analyzes them correctly and informs its readers. In line with this vision, we have taken care to convey new geopolitical structures such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, BRICS, and the Organization of Turkic States, and their economic impacts, to the public with high-quality content.

We are aware that staying afloat in the competition is only possible with the right strategies and strong corporate reflexes. Therefore, throughout 2024, in order to be prepared not only for today’s but also for tomorrow’s media ecosystem, we strengthened our human resources, increased the quality of our content, and spearheaded projects to raise awareness about digital literacy.

We will continue to adopt reliability as a principle in journalism and to prioritize responsibility and transparency in content production. By using technology with a human-centered and ethically based approach, we will resolutely continue our goal of becoming not only today’s but also tomorrow’s media organization. I sincerely thank all our stakeholders who trusted us and our dedicated team members for their efforts during this process. We succeeded together, and we will continue to grow together.

Sincerely,

İSMAİL KAPAN
